Hantam
Hantam meaning "Where Red Bulbs Grow’ in Khoisan is a basin-shaped area of vast semidesert plains and is one of the largest geographical regions in South Africa. In early spring, rain transforms the landscape into a burst of colourful wildflowers. Outside spring, tourists leave the sleepy little dorps (villages) to themselves; the only sound you may hear at this time is the clatter of donkey carts. The expanses are wide open and the starry skies stretch to eternity. Lonely Planet
