I have completed the project of listing all the towns linked to the SA Rail Network Map in South Africa that hangs on the wall in my office (all the names of the settlements, sidings, stations that appear on a 1976? chart of the railway network of the South African Transport Services Map). A rough count gives me 1000 names. So it took me about 3 years to complete the task (doing one name a day on average). I will now be adding interesting snippets of the places whenever I see or hear something - join me in my journey of discovering South Africa by signing up as a follower.
