Morreesburg (B15)

Name: Morreesburg

Moorreesburg was originally founded as a church centre in 1898 and was named after the Reverend H A Moorrees. It received municipal status in 1890. The advent of the railway in 1902, contributed to the growth and importance of this settlement. The railway transports a substantial amount of the total wheat production from this area to the rest of South Africa.
