Lidgetton is located on the R103 in the southern part of central Midlands

It is a very small trading post that today has a cafe and post office. A township has formed around Lidgetton and boasts an artist community.

Lidgetton is located five kilometres north of Dargle in the valley of the Lions River, along the famous Midlands Meander tourism route. This area of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands is full of inviting home craft industries, hospitality and accommodation.

The Lidgetton area consists largely of scenic grassland with indigenous yellow wood forests and commercial plantations of pine and blue gum trees.

There is a community initiative based in Lidgetton, drawing on the skills of the local people, who produce wonderful items that can be bought at the nearby craft shops.
